Writing useful emails

How should I adapt B2B emails between French and English?

Translate the intent and business context, not just individual words. Keep the same factual claims, scope, and question in both versions while using natural terminology. Review greetings, politeness, dates, and industry expressions separately. The translated email should sound like a message written for that reader.

How to approach it

  1. Create a glossary for recurring product and industry terms.
  2. Compare both versions for omitted or stronger claims.
  3. Have a fluent reviewer check important customer-facing copy.
Illustrative example

“Workflow” may become “processus” or “flux de travail” depending on context. Choose the expression your buyers understand, and ensure the French version does not promise automation beyond what the English offer includes.
