Replies and follow-ups
How many follow-up emails should I send?
Use a short, limited sequence in which every follow-up adds useful context. Silence is not permission to continue indefinitely. Stop when someone replies, declines, opts out, or when the contact is no longer eligible. Vibeful’s outreach rules cap a sequence at four messages, including the first, within a 21-day span; that limit is not a recommendation to use every step.
How to approach it
- Decide the stop conditions before scheduling.
- Give each follow-up a distinct purpose.
- Review the sequence as a recipient would read it.
A second message might clarify one use case. Repeating “just checking in” three times adds pressure without helping the buyer evaluate the offer.
